Purusha and Prakriti — Awareness and Life
In yogic philosophy, life is born from the meeting of two principles: Purusha and Prakriti.
Purusha is pure awareness — the silent witness within us.
It observes, but it does not act.
Prakriti is life in motion — the body, the breath, thoughts, emotions, nature, and all forms of change.
On their own, neither creates real experience.
Awareness without manifestation has nothing to experience.
Manifestation without awareness moves automatically, without presence.
Life becomes meaningful only when awareness meets experience.
This meeting is called Lila — the divine play of life.
Consciousness experiences itself through form, moment by moment.
Yoga is not about leaving life behind.
It is about living fully — with awareness present in every experience.
A Simple Meditation Practice
Meeting Awareness and Experience
Sit comfortably or lie down.
Let the body be supported by the ground.
Gently close your eyes.
First, notice the body.
Feel sensations, breath, movement.
This is Prakriti — life happening.
Now, notice that there is something aware of all this.
A quiet presence that is simply watching.
This is Purusha — awareness itself.
Do not try to change anything.
Let awareness rest gently inside the experience.
Let life be exactly as it is.
Stay here for a few breaths,
allowing awareness and experience to be together.
This simple meeting is yoga.
This is conscious life.
“Live now. Love deeply. Be aware.”
